Are you a DJ interested in submitting
your mixes for inclusion on Pleasure Dome FM Broadcast?
If so, it's important that you first understand the VISION behind the Pleasure Dome FM project.
From the start, our goal was to establish Pleasure Dome FM as a viable promotional tool for DJ's and producers from the electronic music szene.
There is a HUGE audience for electronic music to today's market. We have started this project to give more DJ's and producers a promotion platform to an interested audience. The program can be tuned into
from Shoutcast, iTunes, an iPhone or this web site.
However, Pleasure Dome FM is more than just a radio broadcast,
it's a community of DJ's and producers of the electronic music szene. A bulletin board
group is available for networking, advice, idea-sharing,
promotional tips and gig-sharing. If your music is included on the
broadcast, we encourage you to become an active participant in the community.
The more you invest in Pleasure Dome FM in terms of your time and energy
, the more Pleasure Dome FM will invest in you in terms of playing your
music and inviting you to participate in future events.
Submission
Guidelines
1) Only music from the style House and all its sub-styles will be
considered. No Gabber, Schranz, Hardcore, Break Beat or similar.
2) Your mix must SOUND professional in terms of mixing style and sound quality. Please send for first assesment a demo mix with length 30 minutes in 128 kbps. If we decide to include you in the show we will inform you about the future submission of your music.
3) Submit your mix via email with a download link to a file hoster like Sendspace, Speedyshare or others where we can download your mix. Please ensure that download rate with your file hoster will be reasonable.
4) Send no more than two
different mixes. Some folks are sending us all mixes they ever made, and because we are receiving so many submissions it's a bit
overwhelming. Just send us your best one or two mixes to start with and then in your cover letter let us know you have other mixes available.
5) Please send us a short description how you would like to do your show and how you would name it. Also include your
contact information with your mail. Specifically, an phone
number where we can contact you if we have questions.
6) Review time
is currently two weeks. Yeah, we know it's a long time. But if you get on
the broadcast, it's worth the wait! We receive music in the mail almost every day
now. We give every mix we receive our complete attention before selecting for the broadcast. What that means, however, is
that it may be even 3 or 4 weeks before we get to yours. Please allow us at least that
long review your music. Don't worry, if we choose your music for the broadcast,
we will be in contact with you.
7) Reviewing music via web
sites. It's not uncommon for an artist to ask us to review their music via
their web site, Promo DJ, Myspace or others before sending a mix in to us. Our response to that is; no, we'd
rather not. Your odds of being included on Pleasure Dome FM are greater if you
send your mix in to us for review. Why? Because we listen to the music we receive
over and over again, allowing ourselves time to warm up to your music. There are
several artists on the show schedule whose mixes didn't grab us the first time through,
but after repeated listening we really liked it. So if you have confidence in
your music and think fits within our format, send it in.
8) Cost. Once you passed the preview phase successful and we have chosen you to be member of the DJ team to run your own two hour show on Pleasure Dome FM please expect a small monthly fee submission of currently USD 30. Pleasure Dome FM is a radio station produced by DJ's for DJ's and people that love electronic music. Currently we finance the station with private means. To be able to to make the broadcast technically available and cover the costs for licensing for internet radio transmission we will ask you to support us with that small amount.
The "Sound" We're Looking For...
Keep in mind that we
are looking for particularly "House-Sound." Consider the broadcast title,
"Intelligent Music for Intelligent People". Does your music fit within that context? Is it giving something extraordinary, driving, grooving, dynamic or melodic? If so, send it in. But do realize that we don't
include every mix we receive. In fact, we only use about 30% of all
submissions. If we DON'T choose you, that doesn't mean we don't like your music.
It just means it doesn't fit the exact sound we're looking for.
